APPOINTMENTS
Initial evaluation appointments are between 60 to 90 minutes. On-going therapy appointments plus/minus medication management as well as parent guidance appointments are both each 45 minutes, with additional time available as needed. I do not currently offer exclusively medication consultation or medication management appointments.
CANCELLATIONS
Appointment times are reserved in advance. A minimum 24-hour advance notice of cancellation is requested. With exceptions for emergency situations, full payment for the late cancellation or missed appointment will be expected. Please note that insurances will not typically reimburse the fees for missed visits.
SERVICE FEES
Service fees vary based on the service provided. Please contact me for inquiries. Extended appointment times when clinically indicated are prorated based on the session rate. Extended telephone communication (e.g., with families, schools, and/or other care providers), and other forms of clinically-indicated work (e.g., form completion, letter and report writing) are also prorated based on the session rate.
BILLING
I am listed as an in-network provider for a number of insurance plans due to my affiliation with MGH and NWH, but as part of my private practice, I do not contract with any insurance carriers. I provide monthly invoices, which individuals may be able to submit for reimbursement through their insurance company. Patients are responsible for determining if they are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement, and to manage all parts of the reimbursement process. I do not communicate with insurance companies directly.
PAYMENT
Payment for services is typically through check or Zelle (secure direct bank-to-bank money transfer accessible through most major mobile banking apps). I do not accept payments via credit card. Payments are requested in full within a timely manner.
COMMUNICATION
Patients are able to contact me via email or phone. All messages left are confidential, and will be returned with 24-48 hours, with the exception of weekends, holidays, and times when I am away. If I am away or not available for an extended period of time, I would provide you with a colleague to contact if any issues requiring MD support.
EMERGENCIES
In case of any acute safety or emergency concern, patients or parents of minor patients should notify me by voicemail, and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For parents of minor patients, Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI), which provides crisis assessment, intervention, and short-term stabilization, is also available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year by calling 877-382-1609.
